National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day 2021
Tuesday, May 19, was National Asian and Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. The ETE Dashboard shared three infographics focused on key HIV-related outcomes for New Yorkers in Asian and Pacific Islanders communities.
In 2019, of the 2,363 New Yorkers newly diagnosed with HIV, 77 (3%) are among Asian and Pacific Islander communities.
Of those 77 API New Yorkers newly diagnosed with HIV, 82% were linked to care within 30 days of diagnosis and 60% achieved viral suppression within 3 months of diagnosis.
Of the 1,950 New Yorkers in Asian and Pacific Islander communities living with diagnosed HIV, 79% were virally suppressed in 2019.
